Challenges Accepted!

I've committed to completing two 30 day fitness challenges.  One for my abs and the other for my glutes (both challenges/images were found on-line).  I've also participated in a clean eating diet.  I've lost a total of 8 pounds and have made progress in toning up my troubled areas and I am ecstatic and wanted to share!

Now I haven't followed these challenges to the letter (missed a few days), but I will complete 30 days and will add other challenges to the mix once these are complete.

I'll post my favorite recipes soon and will post my big reveal at the end of the 30 days.

Lovely Leopard Spots!

Target's Sam & Libby Dixie Pumps- Dusty Brown

While shopping at a local Target I ran across these lovely leopard print pumps.  They were the only pair left in my size, so I snatched them up quick.  They run a little big, so when I got home I went online and I ordered a half size down and returned the larger size when the new pair arrived.   I love this shoe!

Merry Christmas!

I pray that you and your families are doing well!   I know that the holiday season can be a 

busy time for all, but I wanted to take a moment to say Merry Christmas to each of you!  

I pray for grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior towards you, your family and loved ones.  It is my hope and desire that as you spend time with your families,you will be reminded during this season of how much you are loved by the One who thought you were worth saving!

Just Because!

I received these today and when I asked why, my husband responded with, "Just because!  I received a "Just Because" gift!  Such a nice and thoughtful surprise!

Life, friendship, purity, faith, hope, wisdom and love...flowers have so many meanings. Their fragrance can be refreshing, soothing and relaxing!  Their colors can evoke warmth and or excitement.

Today, for me it's all of the above mentioned!  I love my life.  I'm growing in my faith.  I have hope in my future and I am thankful for wisdom.

I cherish both my husband's friendship and his love for me!  I have been blessed!

Just Because is a great way to show those who you care about how much you love them.
 

I'm Twisted out!

I haven't been doing much of anything with my hair lately.  I wear my hair 95% of the time in the twists you see in the picture above on the left.  I have been telling myself lately, "I am bored with my hair", yet haven't made any attempts to change what is working for me (twists). I realize that I am just being lazy with regards to implementing the change I seek, because for me twists are easy to create and requires little to no maintenance. I would wear it straight to change things up a bit, but it's currently too hot to wear my hair straightened.  Besides, humidity and straight hair for me do NOT work!  Also, I want to do something different from just straightening my strands and pin curling.

In an attempt to motivate myself to begin the process of doing more with my tresses, I started viewing archived images of my hair to remind me of what it (my hair) and I can do when I exert energy and allow a little bit of creativity to flow.  I am eager to try new styles such as top knots (a style that is hot now that my Mom use to rock years ago!!!),  perm rod sets, flexi rod sets, etc....

Time to let the twists OUT!!!

What to do, what to do?...I know, let's try an updo!

I recently straightened my hair and a few days prior to wash day I wanted to try something new, so I did a search on-line for an updo style to recreate on my own tresses.

It's called the Gibson Tuck and can be found using the link below the above image.  My version is not as nice as her's, but it's not bad.  I think I'll try it again, but after my hair has been freshly straightened.  Give this style a try for yourself as it's a great protective style to wear while the hair is straight.  Hmm, I may even try it on a dry twist-out :0).

 My latest purchase and I can't wait until it arrives!  I know it will be a while before the weather gets cooler here to be able to wear this out, but there's nothing wrong with planning ahead!

My latest purchase!  I think that they are CUTE!

What Had Happened Was...

Well...what had happened was...a couple of months ago, I decided to straighten my strands and to give myself a trim...and what started out as a trim, ended up being a three to four inch cut (got a little too scissor happy)!  I believe that I have made progress up to this date, but I couldn't remember if I had taken any pics of my cut during that time (seeing is believing in this case), so I decided to search through my images and I stumbled across these that I had taken during and after the cut and thankfully so.  I did this cut on April 10th. After the cut I curled my strands and absolutely fell in love with the feel of my freshly cut ends, but soon realized what a difference three inches can make!

Lately I've been wearing my hair in twists now pinned in place for the past couple of months, only wearing them down on special days (birthdays, get togethers, church, etc...). 

Will straighten again possibly in October.  It's all about retaining length now.

Outfit Of The Day! (OOTD)

Although it's spring, we are having a bit of cooler weather this week.  Yesterday's high was 52 degrees, which is not the norm for us this time of year, but knowing that the hotter days are just around the corner (and having experienced a few hot days last week), we'll enjoy every bit of the cooler weather we can get!

On our way downtown to see a movie, I decided to snap my boo's outfit of the day (OOTD).

My most recent shoe purchase!  BCBGeneration "Jakalyn".  I love them.  This shoe's heel height is about four inches.  The upper is leather and synthetic.

I can not wait until the weather warms up to wear these.    

What I Wore! White, Burgundy & Gray!

Excuses are the tools...thus I won't make any, but I will extend an apology to my readers for taking so long to create a new post.  I apologize to you...

What I wore:  Prior to this day, I typically would try to pair an off white dress with matching tights and a neutral colored shoe, but not this day...I wanted color!  My colors of choice were gray and burgundy. I eagerly pulled out my newest find, Sam Edelman "Kit" boot, to pair with my charcoal gray tights to complete this ensemble.
